Paroles de PluiË: a 3-dimensional activity

In a context where water is becoming a growing global concern, IRHA's PluiË_Promouvoir de manière Lundique et Innovante l'Eau de pluie project is raising awareness of the need to change perceptions of the rainwater resource. The project's "Paroles de Pluie" activity features a creative, participatory approach to exploring the link between art, words and rainwater.

The activity took place in three distinct stages, each offering a unique dimension for expressing and understanding the resource of rainwater. The main objective was to collect thoughts and feelings about this precious resource and translate them into words, so that they could be valued and shared as part of IRHA's work.

The first stage consisted of an artistic workshop, where participants were invited to let themselves be guided by a musical background, exploring their personal relationship with rain through bodily movements and shared experiences. This process led to the creation of poems in the form of Haikus, capturing impressions and emotions linked to rain.

The second phase took place during the "Solidarité dans tous ses États" festival, where a special activity was organized for the children. They were encouraged to recall happy moments spent in the rain, or to send messages to an imaginary raindrop. This playful approach enabled the children to actively engage in thinking about the importance of rainwater.

Finally, in partnership with the Office Cantonal de l'Eau (Cantonal Water Office), a workshop will be organized to create powerful messages. The aim is to devise evocative phrases designed to raise awareness and communicate the importance of rainwater management. These messages will be used for awareness-raising campaigns in the city of Geneva.

During these three stages, participants' thoughts and feelings are recorded on cardboard water drops, symbolically suspended from a cotton cloud. This written resource, representative of different perspectives on rainwater, will now be used by the IRHA as part of its efforts to promote responsible use of this precious resource.

The "Paroles de Pluie" activity illustrates how art and creativity can be mobilized to raise awareness of environmental issues. By encouraging reflection and dialogue around rainwater, this project contributes to changing perceptions and raising collective awareness of the importance of preserving and managing this vital resource.
